when your house is being re-wired. (including the sweaty husband in the kitchen. :))
We are having all of the wiring in our entire house changed from aluminum to copper wiring. It is a big, big mess, but it will keep our house from burning down, so we can't complain about that! The main consideration for this is that Boosky doesn't understand the fire escape plan when we try to explain it, so this was our only choice. :)

TV Confessions!
I have never really been a big TV person, but there are always 1-2 shows a week that I really enjoy each season. In honor of the fact that we (STAN) got cable today, I thought I would tell you a bit about what I'm digging on TV right now. :) I must confess that there are now a few more than 1 or 2 shows that I watch each week - I feel like a total couch potato! (but I love it!) I will list them in order of current importance in my life:
1) The Biggest Loser - People . . . this show is INCREDIBLE! If you haven't watched it before, you NEED to stay home on Tuesday night and watch it or ELSE! It is sooo inspiring and it always makes me eat totally healthy for at least 2 days. :)
2) The Office - I know I really don't need to say anything about this because you probably all know how funny it is, but this season has gone to new heights with "Michael Scott's Dunder Mifflin Scranton Meredith Palmer Memorial Celebrity Rabies Awareness Pro-Am Fun Run For The Cure" (you can order your T-shirt online, BTW). Please tune in.
3) The Bachelor - Ugh. I know. Please don't make fun of me. Here's the deal - the guy is from Austin! So I practically know him! :) Just kidding. But really, something about this show is sooooo intriguing. Stan watches it with me and makes fun of it the entire time and I spend the whole hour defending those poor girls. :) Fun times.
4) Law & Order SVU - I was never interested in all these crazy L&O spin-offs and basically lost interest in L&O a long time ago, but I caught an episode of this two weeks ago and was hooked! The actors are terrible but the story lines are just crazy and so good! Check it out!
What are your favorites right now? Maybe I need to check them out, too! :)

Public service announcement!
Hey guys!
Just a little note to let you know that today begins the complete renovation of our home that will be taking place over the next month and in T minus 20 minutes, we will have no electricity for over 48 hours. I'm doing the responsible thing and getting the heck out of Dodge while Stan stays and helps the electrician turn our house from aluminum into copper wiring - yippee! I will be with my in-laws in Dallas and may not have email access, so please feel free to call with any immediate needs!
Love,
Stacy

Sarah's Bridal Portraits!
When Sarah told me she wanted something different for her bridal portraits - bright colors, bold backdrops, fun poses - I could hardly believe what I was hearing! Even when I suggested the location, I was sure she would say no, but she sounded excited! I knew that when we arrived there, she would immediately decide she wanted to go somewhere else, but instead she jumped out of the car with her mom as they both exclaimed "This is awesome!!" Every corner we turned, Sarah's mom would say, "Oh, I love that" and it would be an old run-down, nasty shack with a pretty blue wall. I was IN HEAVEN with these two - they both have such an incredible sense of style and they were so able to visualize what I was talking about the whole time and they were game for anything! Here's a few of my favorites!

Austin & Shanan: Engaged!
Another fun time, another great couple. :) They'll be getting married next February and I cannot wait (and I can't wait for that Feb weather - whew!) Thanks for a great afternoon, guys! Here's just a sneak peek of their pics.
* FYI * - Whenever I post pictures from a wedding or portrait session, I always pick out MY favorites - the ones that speak to me the most artistically. There are always plenty of facing-the-camera, standard lovey-dovey engagement pictures, but I prefer pictures that really show the emotions and true personalities of my subjects, so that's what I put on the blog! :)

Poor Buddy. (random thought)
He must be so confused!
He has a brain the size of a peach pit and we call him by all of the following names:
1) Buddy
2) Boosky
3) Boosie
4) Booze
5) Boozeltoff
6) Boo Nasty
7) Buzz
8) Buzz Man
9) Buzz Monkey
I just realize how difficult this must be for him. He probably has no true sense of identity. We are terrible parents!!!

Matt & Dana: Engaged!
Yesterday I had a wonderful time shooting two engagement sessions with two fantastic couples! First up are Matt & Dana, who were really fun to hang out with. I am very much looking forward to shooting their wedding on April 12th! Dana is a faithful blog reader, so I am so thrilled to share these with you and to see how she loves being in the spotlight! Be sure to leave her lots 'o love, please! She is just the coolest.
Here are a few of my favorites. :)

Alisa & John's Wedding!
On Saturday Stan and I went out to Austin Riverboats to shoot Ali & John's sunset wedding. Here's a few of our favorite shots from the day!
Ali was so relaxed and cheerful as she got ready for her big night!
She wore her grandmother's gorgeous pearls - the same ones her mom wore at her wedding.
This girl has a great sense of style - check out her "something blue"!
John eagerly awaiting his lovely bride.
There was quite a bit of whispering and giggles from the front during the ceremony! :)
Dad tore up the dance floor - he was a maniac of a dancer!!

I am WAY too excited about this!
As we browsed the isles of Barnes & Noble, several intriguing titles caught my eye, but not anything that I wanted to take home. We were on our way out the door when I noticed a HUGE table full of 2008 weekly planners, highlighted with a beam of light from the heavens above (okay, maybe not the light part). Immediately my heart began to pound as I quickly made my way to the table full of an organizational freak's dream come true. How could they possibly already have these out?!
Just the other day I thought to myself, "Gee, I'd really like to have a 2008 planner now, but I still need my 2007 one, so I guess I'll just have to wait. Besides, the 2008 ones are probably not out yet anyway." WRONG!
As if it weren't enough that I had the pick of my choice of a large variety of fabulously-colored 2008 weekly planners, these 2008 planners turned out to be 18-month planners, so I can start using it NOW! AND it only cost me 6 bucks! People, you cannot beat that deal! I am THRILLED, to say the least!
Check out my fine, clean, new planner - I have already started filling it in and I am loving it! If you love keeping a planner like I do, you need to immediately get yourself to Barnes and Noble and pick one out - you can thank me later! :)

Congratulations Resha!!!
My friend Resha delivered a healthy baby girl yesterday and we are SO happy for her! :) Resha is a coordinator at 36th St Events who has become a friend and I just love her to pieces! I really really thought she was going to have a boy, so I'm having a hard time admitting I was wrong, but I am thrilled that it's a girl!
Congratulations Resha and Gabe! Welcome, little Caroline! :)
