Gabe + Jessica

Yesterday I went out with Gabe and Jessica to shoot their engagement pictures. It was the first time I met Gabe, and I was so impressed by what a funny, sweet guy he is! I enjoyed getting to see the love between these two and how they just really honor and care for each other - what a sweet couple. Here's a few from our session:

Family Portraits!

Yesterday I had the pleasure of taking family portraits for our very dear friends Sean, Darcy, Aiden, and Toby! Sean, Darcy, Stan, and I have been friends for a very long time. Their son Aiden was born almost a year ago and Stan and I have been in love with him ever since! And let's not forget Toby, who is Buddy's best friend in the whole universe. We had so much fun yesterday and I know that Darcy is DYING for me to get these pictures up, so here they are!

Jessica, June 9th - please send me your email address!

Just a little Public Service Announcement: Jessica, I saw that you contacted me through my website, but it looks like you accidentally left off the "@_____________" part of your email address, so all I have is your name and wedding date. If you could email me at stacy@stacycross.com, that would be fabulous!

Okay, PSA over!

Hope everyone had a great Thursday.....busy, busy day at the hospital today (I have my nursing school clinicals on Thursdays and Fridays) but I'm loving it! :) I've got some exciting photo ops coming up this weekend, so stay tuned for some pics.

Peace and love,
Stacy

Studying allllllllll day.

Hey Friends -

It's very seldom that I get a WHOLE day to sit at a coffee shop and knock out a ton of studying - it's SO great! Some of you may not know that I'm in Nursing school, but I am and I'm really loving it. I have a phenomenal teacher this semester and I'm really enjoying my clinicals. Anyway, my dear friend Kim is meeting me here today and we're going to study until our brains fall off. :)

One thing that my clients are always surprised by is how quickly I'm able to edit their pictures and send them to them. Well, little tid-bit about me: I cannot start something else without finishing the first thing I did. Really. It's totally crazy. So, if I know I have a wedding this weekend, but I have yet to edit some pics from a portrait session, I make myself finish editing those before I shoot the wedding - that's how I'm able to get things done so quickly - I HAVE to! AND, for example, right at this moment I have NO editing to do because I knew I'd be studying all day today and I wanted to finish all of my editing so that I could really concentrate on my work today.....yay! I've come to the point in my life where my crazy ways are really really useful - I knew I'd get here! :)

Stacy

Oh, PS - If you live in Austin and haven't been to Austin Java, this is my official "It is so so so so great" plug for this place! I'm sitting here as I write and I'm enjoying their free Wi-Fi and bottomless cup of coffee for $ 2.29 (now you know why this post is so long - I'm totally wired!)and later I will be having some awesome lunch off of their very extensive menu. Everything I've ever gotten to eat here has been fabulous and they have tons of healthy options! Anyway, you should defintely check it out!

Don't tell my mom and dad.....they'll blush!

Stan encouraged me to post about this, though I was hesitant for reasons you will soon understand. :)

Unfortunately, a lot of the really great work I've been doing lately is stuff that I can't (and won't) post on my blog or my website, or anywhere else for that matter. That's because I've been doing a lot of "Boudoir" shots lately and they've turned out amazingly! Lots of brides have asked about these shoots so that they can have these pictures made for their husbands as a wedding present - very fun! Well, I also got the opportunity to do some of these shoots for some ladies that had been married for a long time, but wanted to get their husbands some great pictures for Valentine's Day - also fun and cute!

This is my official "just throwing the idea out" post to let you gals out there know (whether you're one of my brides or just a "lurker") that I do offer Boudoir portraits and that they're amazingly fun and beautiful! Just shoot me a line or give me a call if you're interested. :)

Hope everyone is having a great Sunday - it's beautiful here in Southlake. We're visiting Stan's family and having fun. Stan's sister has a picture with a quote on it that I really like:

"People will not always believe what you say, but they will always believe what you do."

I love this because it challenges me to walk my talk....and live the life I aspire to live - RIGHT NOW.

Hugs,
Stacy

Ben - 2 Weeks Old

The other day I got to shoot some unofficial 2 week pictures of sweet little Ben. You may remember the newborn pictures I posted of him - well, I will be doing a "First Year" package for Ben and his parents, so we'll all get to see Ben grow during his first year together!

This is something that is available to all of my clients and people love having their baby's first year documented so well - and it's so fun to do! Basically, the First Year package consists of 5 shoots....and we can determine when you want to have these, but they're usually like this: a newborn shoot just a few days to two weeks after he's born, a 3 month shoot, a 6 month shoot, a 9 month shoot, and a 1-year shoot! Let me know if you're interested in this. Anyway, here are some lovely black and whites of Ben:

Happy Valentine's Day!

I know that there have to be a lot of great husbands out there....but mine really is the best. Stan is the most kind, loving, intelligent, handsome, fun, silly, and giving person I've ever known - I completely got the jackpot when I married him! There is literally nobody on earth that I'd rather be around.....and nobody who could ever love me like he does. He's incredible.

Here's the flowers he got me today:

And the Rascal Flatts CD's I am SO pumped about (I love them!)

And here's the stud in his wrist guards that he is supposed to wear as often as possible for his tendonitis (carpal tunnel, in my opinion). :)

Part of the fun thing about being a married lady AND a wedding photographer is that I understand the depth of what my brides and grooms are embarking on - and it's still special everytime I get to witness that in someone's life. When Stan and I shoot together, there's always a moment during the ceremony when we look at each other and smile.....I think it's our little way of remembering our own committment - and how thankful we are that we made it!

Stan, I love you with all my heart - Happy Valentine's Day!
