Michael and Sarah's Wedding!

On Saturday Stan and I drove down to San Antonio to photograph Michael and Sarah's wedding, which was really great! Michael and Sarah are both so laid back and fun to be around - and their family and friends are the same way! :)

The best part of all (other than the fact that they got married!) is that Michael and Sarah decided to see each other before the ceremony so that they could get the family and group pictures over with before the fun began. It was SO incredibly beautiful to get the opportunity to capture their first look at each other as they shared a private moment together.

Here are a few of my favorite pictures from their wedding day:

The gentlemen

The ladies

The dancing at this wedding was phenomenal - and you know how much I LOVE dancing!

My favorite part of almost every wedding is when someone comes up to me and says "Hey, we need to take a picture of you - give me your camera!" And then I argue with them saying "Oh, no, don't worry about it . . . nobody wants a picture of me . . . my camera is really hard to operate . . . well . . . okay!" I hand them my camera, knowing this is not going to be pretty, and let them do their best to get a great picture of me. This one is my favorite picture of this kind in a long time:

Thanks to all of you guys that were at Sarah and Michael's wedding! We had so much fun with you all! Since I know many of you are now blog readers (yay!), I hope that you'll leave me a shout-out! :) If you would like to view ALL of the pics from their wedding as soon as they're available, go *HERE* and search for "Michael and Sarah San Antonio". Sign the guest book and you'll be notified when all of the pictures are online - I hope you love them! :)

Now that's some hard work!

45 minutes ago I laid down to take a nap. When I went to sleep, there were two young men beginning to pull the cabinets out of my kitchen, with plans to rip the walls out of my living room next. When I woke up, there were no more cabinets, no more walls, and no more young men. Dang. They're good!

Jordan's Senior Portraits!

I had such an awesome time with Jordan yesterday! She is not only incredibly gorgeous (as you will see here!), but she is so compassionate, intelligent, and joyful. I have known Jordan for several years now and I am so amazed to see what an incredible woman she has turned into! Next year she will be off to college at Wheaton, A&M, or wherever else she decides to wander, but for now, we get to keep her just a bit longer! I was thrilled when she asked me to shoot her senior pictures and, as you can see, this girl makes a photographer's job very easy! :) Love you, Jordan!

PS - I was really hoping that Jordan would accidentally leave her boots in my car, but she didn't :(

Happy Birthday Blog!

Well, this is a little belated, but on November 3rd, my blog turned 1 year old! :)

Why, you may ask, do you care about how old your blog is??

I cannot tell you guys how fun it has been to do this blogging thing over the past year. I remember when I first stared blogging I thought it was so dorky and lame. :) Now, a year later, I LOVE blogging - I love sharing lots of fun business and life stuff with you guys! My friend Andy told me yesterday that he thinks I do a great job of using my blog as a marketing tool, which is a huge compliment and was a big mission of this whole thing, but blogging has become even more than that to me. It has become therapeutic for me - and has helped me to reflect on this past year and think about how I'm progressing towards the things I want to see happen in my life and in my career.

There's something really awesome about being able to read back to what I was doing 3, 6, 12 months ago - the kinds of things that were significant to me, the type of photography work I was producing - and to see how much I've grown in my business and my life! A lot happens in a year, guys!

Anyway, I just wanted to thank you guys SO much for taking an interest in my little world and coming by the blog to see what's going on with me. It means so much to have friends, family, and of course brides and grooms, who care about what's happening in my life. I know I've said it before, but I'll say it again: THANK YOU! Thank you thank you thank you!

And for nostalgia's sake, here's the link to my *First Post* ever on the blog. Look how tiny the pictures are! We've come a long way! ; )

Kent & Amanda's Wedding!

Stan and I shot Kent and Amanda's insanely fun wedding and reception last Saturday at House on the Hill. Words cannot even begin to describe how hard these people partied! Kent and Amanda asked us to stay an extra hour to capture more dancing shots and it was a really great decision because things got CRAZY! The nice thing about H on the H is that you reserve the whole property for the entire weekend, so all your guests can party all night and stay at the facility. :)

I know that this is a very small sneak peek, but the reality is that we captured such a ridiculous number of pictures from this wedding that I am totally overwhelmed trying to pick favorites! :) I just wanted to share a few that struck me for various reasons. :) Enjoy!

Look at Amanda's crazy gorgeous eyes - WOW.

I love these shots that Stan got of Kent getting ready.

Kent and Amanda's personalities are very fun, carefree, and relaxed so we tried to capture their wedding with this in mind. I love these portraits!

Now this is funny: Stan got this really great picture of me trying to teach the guys how to "be GQ". I had no idea how stupid I looked when I was doing this - somebody really should have stopped me! :)

The party was sooooo fun! We didn't want to leave - and Kent & Amanda didn't want us to leave! They invited us to stay and party with them after we finished shooting, but alas, we had to drive home and get some sleep - we're so old! :)

This couple (just friends) were AMAZING dancers. Tricia was a bridesmaid and she was 100% out of control the whole time on the dance floor - it was very impressive!

Hot stuffs.

Okay, that's it for now! Like I said, just a small sneak peek, but Amanda and Kent: Thanks for having us there - we really enjoyed our time with you and can't wait to share your pictures with you!

* If you were a guest at Kent and Amanda's wedding and would like to see all of their pictures when they become available, simply *CLICK HERE* and search for their names. Sign the guestbook and then you will be notified by email as soon as the pictures are up! *

Taylor & Liz: Engaged!

Man, these guys are SO IN LOVE. It was so great to meet up with them on Sunday with the gorgeous afternoon weather in the beautiful heart of downtown Austin! These two are incredibly fun - I laughed my head off the whole time because Liz is sooo silly and Taylor is her perfect silliness match! :) Liz is a teacher so I think she's gifted in the "fun" department and Taylor is a pilot so . . . . he's a high-flying guy. Hehe. (I just slapped myself for saying that!)

Anyway, I love these pictures because I truly enjoy these people and I cannot wait to shoot their wedding! Yippee!!!

Yes, this did happen. :)

Fortune cookie fun

After Taylor & Liz's engagement session yesterday (which I will share very soon!), Stan and I shopped ALLLLL day for kitchen remodeling stuff. By the end of the day were were so tired and wiped out, so we decided to grab a quick dinner at our favorite neighborhood sushi place.

At the end of dinner, we were about to open our fortune cookies and I said "Wait! When we read these, we have to add 'In the kitchen' to the end of the fortune, since we spent all day on kitchen plans."

Stan smiled sweetly in the way he does when he's thinking "Stacy, you're ridiculous, but I love it."

My fortune: Your goals will soon come to pass . . . (in the kitchen)

Stan's fortune: You will have a great capacity to make people feel at home . . . (in the kitchen)

Let it be, Lord! ; )
