I know I've said it a thousand times . . .
but I HAVE to say it again: I LOVE LOVE LOVE my job! :) :)
Right now I'm gearing up for Dianna and Jason's wedding this afternoon and I could not be more excited! These two live in California and though I've never met them face-to-face, I already feel like I know them so well and I cannot wait to share in this awesome day with them. Love is so fun. :)
Thanks again to all of you who have chosen us to shoot your wedding! You have no idea how fun it is for us!
I got up this morning, made coffee and pancakes, and have been having a blast brainstorming some new fun ideas for today! I let Stan sleep in because he's been so tired, so as of now (11am) he is still sleeping!
When he wakes up, we'll get ready, sit down at eat pancakes (yay!), go over our schedule, and fly out of here, no doubt jamming to some pump-up music (we've been favoring Queen as of late) as we drive over to Barton Creek Resort and Spa. :)
Can't wait to share the pictures!
Much love,
Stacy

Will & Stacey's Wedding!
On Thursday I had the joy of joining my good bud Tyler Schmitt at Will and Stacey's wedding to help him out with capturing some awesome moments! I think this is the first time I have EVER been as second shooter - isn't that crazy?! Well, it was so much fun and I want to do it again asap. Okay, enough about me, on to the couple!
Stacey is an incredibly talented young lady - the details of this wedding were incredible! She had such a huge vision for her Thursday wedding at Mercury Hall and with the help of my other awesome friend Resha, from 36th St Weddings, she was able to bring all of her ideas to life! I think that every time I commented on something I liked, Stacey was like, "Oh, I made that. Uh huh, I made that, too." Good Lord! This girl must have been busy!
Will is a soft spoken, sweet and endearing dude. It was amazing to see the look in his eyes every time he caught a glimpse of Stacey. Their love was so evident all day long. They are so great for each other!
Stacey had an incredible group of girls that she met on the Knot that came out to help her get hitched - it was so funny watching all of them together - so many inside jokes and giggles. :)
Okay, I'll stop typing and start sharing some of my favorite pictures that I captured throughout the day. :) Will & Stacey - congrats! Thanks for letting me be a part of your day. :)
Let's start out with just a few of the amazing details of this wedding (the 36th street girls decorated like champs!)
Incredible flowers done by the sweet, amazing, talented, wonderful Terri at Feori del Sole.
The rings & the sand. :) I felt pretty cool for thinking this one up! ; )
Cute cute cute shoes
The running joke of the day was "How many Knoties does it take to get Stacey married?!"
Putting on mom's shoes
An emotional moment as Stacey saw Will for the first time
Party time!
There were some amazing dancers at this reception!
Will gave such a sweet, touching toast to his beautiful bride. Stacey looked like she was in heaven in Will's arms. :)
Will and Stacey's adorable boys - they were hilarious all day!
Tyler and I posed with our gal, Resha. Tyler's rockin' the Sunkist - just a testament to how cool this dude really is. ; )

Smith Family Portraits
The other day I got together with one of my dearest friends, Cortney, and her lovely family for some fabulous family portraits. It was a beautiful morning - not too hot yet - and we just enjoyed some time together in the Arboretum. Their newest addition, Cooper, is absolutely as cute as he could be! Matt and Meghann are SUCH great parents - they just love him so much! Grandma and Grandpa were also on hand to cuddle and hug on him and, of course, Aunt Pookie (as Cortney is called) gave him lots of hugs and kisses, too! Here's a few of my favorite pics from the day.
And last, but not least, Cooper made some new friends:
PS - Cortney is my biggest blog reader and such an awesome source of encouragement and support to me in my photography endeavors. :) Thanks, Cortney! Now that I got your family pics up, I'm taking at least a day off the blog! ; )

Chris & Heidi: Engaged!
I loved hanging out with these two Sunday afternoon! :) They were truly hard core too, because I think it was about 126 degrees outside. Chris and I were doing a lot of sweating and Heidi was "perspiring" :), but we still managed to get some gorgeous pics of the two of them. Of course, I had a lot to work with with these good-lookers!
And a kind of wacky one, just for fun!

Accepted - WPJA!
Hey guys -
Well, a few weeks ago I finally got off my lazy bum and applied for membership to the Wedding Photojournalist Association and I was notified a few days ago that I was accepted - hooray!
This is the mission statement for the WPJA:
"The Wedding Photojournalist Association (WPJA), an International, membership-based organization, represents professional photographers skilled in the documentation of weddings and events in a candid, unobtrusive style. The WPJA was founded to uphold excellence in the area of wedding photojournalism."
I am excited to be a member now and to take advantage of lots of great opportunities within this organization. I am proud to be in the great company of other extremely talented wedding photographers and many of them are already my good friends!

This makes my week. :)
I received not one, but two heartfelt thank-you letters from clients last week, which is always something that means so much to me. I keep your letters and read them over again so many times. My heart is filled with gratitude, love, and joy everytime I get a letter like this:
"Dear Stacy,
You are the bomb-diggity! I cannot begin to tell you how much we LOVE the pictures. They are beyond good . . . they are incredible! I know we will enjoy looking at them for the rest of our lives.
I also wanted to thank you for everything you did during the ceremony as well . . . I think you were the only person who really calmed me down. Thank you so much for that.
I cannot wait to do future family shoots with you. You better not go anywhere! :)
Thank you for all the hard work you put in to capture the most special day of our lives. We will cherish the photos forever.
Best wishes,
{Bride & Groom}"
To my new friends -
The pleasure was all mine. :) You two have been a constant reminder to me of how much joy I find in what I do. I am so happy for both of you and and I pray that you will grow together in love and depth of intimacy for the rest of your lives.
Love,
SC
PS - it warms my heart that you used the word bomb-diggity to describe me. All of my life, I have aspired to reach towards bomb-diggityness, so this is a huge honor. :)

Kevin & Crystal: Engaged!
Kevin, Crystal, and I had a blast today romping around UT campus to get some awesome engagement pictures of them. These two were total naturals in front of the camera - it was really wonderful! I cannot wait for their wedding next April! Here's a few highlights from the day - enjoy! :)
