Today I got to drive over to our cousins Jeff & Victoria's house to take another set in our installment of first year pictures of sweet, handsome Ben! You can see our previous sessions here on the blog - just look for Ben's name.
Today was so fun and I just cherish the times I get to capture my favorite little guy. :) He has been such an awesome and exciting addition to our family and we cannot even remember what it was like without him! Anyway, here are a few of my favorites from the day.
I also wanted to say hi to Bernie, Carol, Carla, Tom, and Grandma, who assuredly will be checking the blog! :) Love you all!
I found out today that one of the frustrations of being a baby is that you have a big, fat, chubby finger to pick your nose with, but your nostrils are smaller, so it's harder to fit the finger in! :)

Check out this website!
Stan and I discovered this amazing website last night and we were literally laughing out loud for 20 minutes! It's called "I Can Has Cheezburger" and it is hilarious! This is my favorite picture from the site:

Emily's Headshots!
Emily is so sweet and beautiful - and I had a great time taking her headshots today. She is an aspiring actress and I cannot wait to see all the great things her future holds!
Happy 18th Birthday, Emily! :)

Hot stuffs alert - haha!
Stan and I are:
1) Rarely really dressed up
2) Rarely really dressed up and in the same place
3) Rarely really dressed up and in the same place where someone has a camera
4) Always red-eyed in pictures
. . . oh well, 3 out of 4 is not that bad!
We're actually dressed up and in the same place almost every weekend, but that's when we're shooting a wedding and nobody really wants to take pictures of the photographers. Hey - wait a second - come to think of it, I get my picture taken a LOT when I'm shooting a wedding, but I never see the pictures people take. If you have taken a picture of me at a wedding in the past year, please email it to me and I'll post it up here on the blog! :)
So anyway, I was browsing through the Austin Wedding Guide (I advertise with them) website and I stumbled across this picture of us from the June Bridal Extravaganza in our booth! I love it because you can see how handsome my Stan is! :)

I love rain!
Man, it is totally pouring at my house right now and I love it! I had several errands that I needed to run, but I decided to do those tomorrow and do more office work today because of the weather. However, more than anything, I am struggling to stay awake! For some reason, when it rains, all I want to do is sleep. I've heard that this is pretty common . . . so I'm wondering how anything has gotten done in Austin in the last few weeks - it has rained almost every single day!
Okay, enough of that. I'm going to go back to my office work . . . but maybe I'll sit down on the couch for just a minute first . . . by the window . . . under a blanket . . . with the lights off. :)

One of my new favorite pictures
Just doing a little experiment, but thought I would use one of my new favorite pictures to try it!

Behind the scenes!
A day in the life of a wedding photographer:
1) Wake up, have a cup of coffee, plan for the day.
2) Gather and organize equipment, pack bags.
3) Drive to event location, find bride, begin taking pictures.
4) Take pictures throughout wedding and reception, eat cake, drink water.
5) Go to afterparty and jump on trampoline with groom.
WHAT?! Yes, that's right!
One thing I did not mention yesterday (because I thought it deserved it's own day) is that after Dustin and Whitney's wedding, they very awesomely invited Stan and I to their after-party at a friend's house and, of course, we went. We only stayed for a short time, but we had fun and we really appreciated the invite and the hosts opening their gorgeous home to us.
People, do NOT put me within near proximity to a trampoline and expect me not to jump on it! And, I was delighted to find that Dustin is just like me - only extremely acrobatic and coordinated. But he loves jumping on the trampoline, so Stan got these awesome shots of the two of us jumping together!
This is not going to turn out well
Dustin did flips all over the place with perfect form. He was a cheerleader in college (cheater!)
Why am I always about to land on my head or my back??

Whitney & Dustin's Wedding!
Stan and I went out to Chapel Dulcinea and the Salt Lick Mansion to take pictures at Whitney and Dustin's wedding. These two are so sweet and such a great couple! We truly enjoyed the day. During the ceremony, it was pouring down rain and everyone was huddled together under the small chapel as Whitney and Dustin exchanged their vows. Of course, as soon as the ceremony was over, the clouds parted, the sun broke through, and the weather was gorgeous for the rest of the evening.
Whitney & Dustin's wedding was very casual and nontraditional - which was perfect for both of them!
Here's a few of my favorites from the day. :)
Of course the UT Gnome (also seen in their engagement pics) needed to make an appearance in this ring shot!
And last, an awesome capture by Stan - way to go, babe!

Photographer Ladies Unite!
Last night I had an awesome time with a bunch of my photographer gal friends! We met for dinner at Guerro's on South Congress and it was so fun - we just laughed the whole time. :) It's so fun getting to know other local photographers and making friendships with them. It seems like, in the past, photographers would just be all about competition and would not even acknowledge each other and now I am so blessed to say it is not this way with my friends! They're all so sweet and we just all want the best for each other, so it's awesome! It was also exciting to be surrounded by so much talent - these girls are great!
Of course, we're photographers, so we had to get a couple of group shots. :)
