Cross Family Portraits!

Sometimes it's hard being a photographer because I'm WAY critical of the pictures that other people take of me. Part of it is that I just don't like how I look in pictures and another part of it is that I'm always thinking of how I would have done it. Stan and I set up my camera on a tripod today to take some family pictures of us with Buddy. I'm not thrilled about how these turned out, but here they are!

Just a couple pics from Thanksgiving

Hope everyone had a fun and relaxing Thanksgiving - I'm still enjoying the 4-day weekend! My parents just left and I thought I'd get a couple of pictures up real quickly so that my cousins can see them - Hi, family.
It was really fun visiting with my family this weekend. My uncle and aunt just bought a beautiful property in North Texas and built a magnificent house on it. This is where we had Thanksgiving this year. I enjoyed getting to spend some time with my cousins' kids - they are the cutest, smartest, most fun kids in the world and I love them! It's so fun to have kids in the family again and it's really neat to see my cousins raising their own kids.
This is Preston, he's my cousin Dave and his wife Kim's son. We really hit it off. He's scratching his head here.

This is Katie - she's my cousin Michele and her husband Michael's daughter. She loves taking pictures and, shhhhh, she's getting her own digital camera for Christmas! This made me so happy - I think it's one of the best gifts you can give a little kid. :) She takes pictures like this because she has a hard time closing one eye so that she can see through the viewfinder. I tried to show her how to do it, but she prefers to cover her eye with her other hand and, if it works, why not?!

There were many hilarious things that happened - as there always are when we all get together, but my favorite quote of the weekend was when Katie said to me:
"Stacy, let's race. I'm going to beat you. I'm fast and you're slow. That's because I am a little kid and you're an old adult and I have a lot more energy than you."

Happy Thanksgiving

Friends,

Thanksgiving is tomorrow and words cannot express how deeply thankful I am this year. (It's about to get sappy.....proceed with caution!)

No matter what is going on in my life - how great or small the events in my world seem - I have always had everything I've needed. I'm so thankful to know a God that is kind, loving, near, compassionate, and forgiving without end. He has given me joy and peace like I've never known.

I'm thankful for all my family (Stan, Buddy, Mom, Dad, Grandma, Bethy, Dianne, and Stan III especially!) and for all of you, my dear friends. My life is rich, and full of fun and love because of you all. My cup overflows. :)

Here's wishing you all a joyful and safe Thanksgiving Holiday!

Much love,
SC

Hope group babies!

Stan and I went to our small group through our church that we go to each week. Several of our friends in the group have little babies and every week I think dang, look how cute these kids are, I cannot believe I forgot my camera AGAIN!!! Well, guess what folks, I remembered this week! I had to get just a couple of pictures up because I know their hot mommas will be wanting to see these. :) Of course, this is a sneak peek . . . many more coming soon! (I have to sleep sometime, people!!)

Hugs - S

Meet Mitch

Hey guys - hope everyone is having a wonderful Saturday! It was such a beautiful day here in Austin. Stan and I got to go out to Mitch's house to take some portraits for him. He was SUCH a great guy and we had so much fun with him! He is so funny and very down to earth and, ladies: he's single! We can't believe it, either. :) Here's just a few shots from today.

Pants on fire

Hey guys - I'm sorry - I'm a big liar. I didn't get to do the portrait sessions today with my girls because when I got out of my clinical at the hospital, I was having some throat-scratchy-ear-itchy-head-achey issues. I cancelled on them, but I have one of the portrait sessions re-scheduled for Tuesday (can't wait, B!) and hopefully, the other one will be on Monday.

This weekend I'm meeting up with Mitch to take some fabulous portraits of him. It will be fun, fun, fun! He's got some great ideas and I'm looking forward to meeting him!

Stay tuned on Saturday and then also on Monday and Tuesday for some new pictures.

hugs,
S

Cool stuff tomorrow.

I am so excited about tomorrow afternoon! I've got a couple of photo shoots set up with some really cute, fun friends of mine. They're helping me with an experiment I'm doing . . . that's all I'll say about it - you'll have to come check the blog tomorrow evening to see the results! :) Oh, I love keeping you in suspense!

Isn't she lovely?

Today Stan and I had the great pleasure of going out to Sarah and Jeff's house to take some pictures of their beautiful family . . . and it was so, so wonderful. We had such a great time with these guys - they are a beautiful, loving family. It warms my heart! Hannah is an absolute angel! Here's a few pics from the shoot today.

. . . and I almost forgot Stan's favorite one:

This is Buddy

So, if you know me, you know that I absolutely cannot get over my little dog, Buddy. He is the sweetest, scraggliest, funniest little thing. I thought I should probably go ahead and introduce him. :) I was having some fun this evening taking pictures of everyone and everything in my house, but this was, by far, the best picture.

Shana and James

Shana and James were married on October 7th and I was able to get their pictures to them a couple of weeks ago, but just learned all about how to get their pictures up on my website so that all of their wonderful family and friends can go see them - yay!

When I say wonderful, I really mean that. :) I had a really good time with these two and all of their guests - what a warm and welcoming group!

Guys, if you were at James and Shana's wedding, all you have to do is go to my wedding homepage and click on "clients". The password is James and Shana's last name. Enjoy. If you're interested in getting copies of any pictures, just keep track of the numbers and shoot me an email!

Funny moment at church today

So, Stan and I were sitting in church today and I leaned over to tell him how much I like his new hair cut. I told him how I thought it was the perfect shape and length, etc. and he said, "You see, that's the difference between getting my hair cut at Pro Cuts versus my normal haircut at Fast Freddy's." Then we just laughed so hard. It's just very endearing that my husband can be so thrifty sometimes. We appreciate each other because we both can be obessive about finding the best deal on everything . . . and after years of practice, we're really good at it!

Speaking of good deals, if you're a Stacy Cross blog-reader, you may just get in on some promotions for photography services that I'll only mention on my blog - woo hoo.

Here's your first one: If you book your 2007 wedding with me during the month of November, you'll save 10% on whatever package you choose! I'll let you do the math, but that a lotta dough! Just mention that you saw it here on my blog. :)

Saturdays are wonderful.

I remembered today why I love being a photographer. I had a wonderful time with Elisa, Kristin, and Allison at Elisa’s bridal portrait shoot this afternoon. Elisa had told me that she would like something “rustic”, which is so fun, so we headed out to the country! In true Stacy style, I decided that we should pull over in front of this random stranger’s beautiful ranch and ask if we could take some pictures. Mr. Richards was very gracious and allowed us to take pictures there and we had a blast! Elisa was a fun bride and such a natural beauty. Thanks for a fabulous day, girls! Here are a few of my favorites from the shoot.

Happy Friday, people!

Hello blog friends - I'm so excited about having this blog because you'll get to know what's going on in my mind and all of my bid-ness and, let's be honest, sometimes you just want to share...

Things are great this week - I'm so glad to finally have my new website up -yay! I'm gearing up for the holidays and (shout out to my nursing school buds) getting excited about our much-needed Christmas break. Along with that comes holiday portraits, which I LOVE to do! Let me know if you're interested.

This week I had an engagment session with Chris and Krissy - talk about one HOT couple! They were so fun and I get the added bonus of being good friends with them. I'm going to be one of Krissy's bridesmaids in May (so no picture taking) and I cannot wait! I love them both. Here are a few highlights from their shoot:
